I got my first taste of the beauty of dj culture at Mr. Floppy’s Flop House over Labor Day Weekend, 1991. A few months later during my radio show I realized we had the same turn tables that I was seeing others use to create those fabulously flowing mixes and decided to try it out myself. I was hooked and thus DJ Stonie was born.
Inspired by the likes of the Full Moon and Connection outdoor gatherings, the Mother Earth Sound System started throwing their own free, outdoor dance parties wherever we could. Following the departure of Brad (Moontribe), Scott, and Whitsitt, I continued to explore the thriving Bay Area music scene collaborating with both Cloud Factory and Friends & Family.
The sounds of acid house have always been my core sound as I have delved from trance to techno to house to down-tempo and everywhere in-between. Here's a sampling of both my dj mixes and my original songs I've produced.
