Seems like we have done so much to change the chassis/suspension on this car, it's hard to kow were to begin. As mentioned before, our goal was to creat an all around nice saturday night special, so handling was just as important as engine HP and torque.

Rearend:

The rearend was pieced together by 1) trading the 4:30 pumpkin obtain from the Charger donar car gave us the 3:55 SG we needed. Purchasing (what was thought) a early B-body housing and axels gave us the rest of what we needed. Turns out the housing/axels were E-body - reminder...always measure twice!! Well after doing some measuring we came to the conclusion that with the right offset, even the wide E-body rear end would work the narrow A-body. So next steps were to contact Stockton Wheels to have some wheels made. Our final choice was a set of chromed 15x8 rallye wheels.

Front and Rear Swaybar:

The rear swaybar was obtained from a late model Abody found at the local junkyard. A couple of bracket were needed to connect the bar to the frame rails; other than this, it was a pretty easy install. Although a different style than the one we used, click here for some scanned images of a how-to article on using sway bars fround in F and M model cars.

The front swaybar was obtain from Firmfeel. From my experience and from must looking at the difference in swaybars, the Firmfeel units are a much better quality setup than the usual Addco swaybars that are sold through most outfits like Yearone. We had already purchased a set of LCAs with the factory tabs, but you can get mounting kits for either LCA with or without the factory swaybar tabs. Click the pictures below for more pictures of the front and rear sway bars used.

Front and Rear Suspension:

ESPO 6 leaf spring in back, .92" torsion bar upgront, and eledrock shocks all around. Rubber was replaced with poly-graphite bushings. Front suspension parts were also powder coated for easy cleaning.
